Might Want to Check Your Email Account

Not much I really want to blog about lately. Someone got into my backyard porch area night before last...moved a bunch of stuff around and stole my generator. On the way out they spotted my almost new push mower and decided to take it too. Nothing ticks me off like some lowlife thinking my stuff really ought to be his. It had to be somebody who had scouted it out, seen it, and made their way back to take it for their own.

Just got back from painful experience at the dentist. Guess I shouldn't have put it off so long. My least favorite of things to do. Gotta go back next week for digging on the other side. Got home...stepped on a little glass bowl we had been using to give our now adopted cats their daily milk...it tipped over and shattered into a gillion pieces. Trying to get in the door after my Sam's Club stop on the way home from the dentist and ripped my leather cell phone carrier smack in two pieces. It's probably so old now they won't have accessories for it any more.

That's enough for now. Ahh...the little things.

Here's some news for you hotmail users.

Hava good day all!!

Hotmail security breach spreads as 30,000 Gmail and Yahoo! passwords are posted online.

The massive security breach that led to millions of Hotmail customers being advised to change their passwords has now spread to users of email services including Gmail and Yahoo! Mail.

Up to 21million people and businesses who use the Hotmail service in the UK were warned they are potentially at risk of being defrauded after passwords were acquired illegally.

Around 10,000 passwords were obtained by hackers who created a fake website identical to Hotmail's to fool users into entering their email address and password in a 'phishing' scam.

Not Related

Maybe you saw the news release and story this past week about "Ardi." Ardi is short for Ardipithecus ramidus, "the oldest pre-human species yet found. Ardi, a she ape, lived 4.4 million years ago in what is now Ethiopia." Fascinating stuff that apparently has the scientific world all agaga. They finally found the missing link.

Oops, sorry strike that...quote "Ardi is not the long-sought "missing link" -- the ancestor that scientists say humans and apes have in common -- but comes close. And it helps show that both human beings and apes have evolved from something, about six million years ago, that did not look much like either."

My scientific mind...save your comment please...says, we're not related at all. Ardi's description looks to me like some sort of hybrid, long arms that are perfect for swinging from the trees, but feet that helped her walk upright. Well, I've gotta state here and now on the public record...me and Ardi...we're not related. How do I know? We don't look at all alike. Whadda ya think?

Nah...I barely have any facial hair at all.

Not too seriously remember? See ya in the jungle!!

Spanking Lead to Lower IQ's

A story that was all over the papes and on the web this week reveals a recent study that says kids who get spanked have on average a 5 point loss on the IQ scale. "The more the spanking, the lower the IQ." I tried to imagine just what my IQ might have been prior to my later childhood days. I was surely a raving genius at some point early in life, a potential MENSA member, and now? (If you don't know what MENSA is you were probably spanked way too much as a child.)

Well now, I suppose I'm just average, but as the good book says, a good bit wiser for the rod (belt, flyswatter, switch, hand) my parents did not spare in those days. Surely it saved my soul from hell as well as some awful evil I might have thought up or done, all because I was bored because of my staggeringly high IQ at the time.

You absolutely have to love research and all it reveals. I say however.... Spank on parents... just enough to keep em from thinking they know everything...which all kids do at some point...but not so much so that you end up beating the smart sense right out of em and make em angry. It's a tough balance huh? Yep. Such is life. Glad I don't have to spank those grandsons of mine...who are still both geniuses in their own right. (Nothing like a unbiased view huh?)

Thanks mom & dad for spanking me....just enough.
